Real Estates - Available apartments
Six years ago Sbo purchased a number of apartments from Bergs municipality that were intended for demolition. Sbo chose renovation over demolition and 19 apartments were converted into student dormas for a local ski school. The residence was recently sold to Ã…sarna real estate inc.
This is the first example of a housing project slated for demolition that was instead refurbished. Together with the municipality and local interests we were able to create attractive living quarters for students. On top of that we were able to reduce the heating costs in the building by 60 percent thereby insuring profitability and longevity to the residence.
Sbo has also acquired 16 apartments in Överkalix. They have been renovated with the intention of using them as homes for senior citizens.
In Hällefors (156) and Grythyttan (61), 217 apartments were bought by us. They have been renovated as student dorms and are in the vicinity of Örebro Universitet and it's restaurant school.
Sbo has also acquired apartments in Kopparberg inside of Ljusnarsbergs municipality on Skärets enterprises.
In the communities of Hammarstrand and Bispgården in Ragunda municipality there was not a single rental facility with an elevator. Seniors and those with handicaps were therefore forced to take accomodations on ground level. As a result there were a number of vacancies on the upper floors. After Sbo's renovations all 32 vacancies were filled.
In the town of Laxå Sbo acquired and refurbished 40 apartments suitable for seniors. The original plan was to demolish the building.
In Filipstad 33 apartments were purchased. A contract was agreed upon by Sbo and Filipstads municipality regarding LSS-residences and living quarters for orphaned refugee children. 18 apartments were designated for assisted living. Currently all apartments are rented.
March 2, 2009 in Bräcke, the municipality and Sbo drew up contracts regarding 37 central apartments that are to be made into apartments for seniors.
17 apartments in Dorotea were acquired and renovated into 18 senior residences. 4 apartments were made available to refugee children in Sorsele.
24 apartments in Tallnäs, Timrå municipality are to be converted into apartments for seniors complete with elevators.
Söråker, Timrå. 8 apartments replete with elevator are available to seniors.
In Degerfors 18 apartments will be converted into apartments for elderly and equipped with elevators.
In Hassela two houses with 28 apartments will be renovated and equipped with elevators to suit the elderly.
In order to achieve balance in the housing market, it is essential that more people move into these areas and choose renting as a form of housing. Apartments can also be renovated for other purposes or, as a last resort, be demolished.
